Everglades City Students Quench Thirsty Seafood Festival Patrons

Posted

The annual Everglades City Seafood Festival is an event founded in 1970 to support the stone crab culture in Everglades City, which is known as the stone crab capital of the world. The Florida Stone Crabbers Association (FLSCA) runs this event. This event attracts many people from all around and gives them a chance to see what Everglades City truly is about. The festival brings support to local businesses, churches, families, the stone crab industry, as well as Everglades City School.

The festival itself has many vendors, and one that is the most well-known is the Everglades City Schools' Coca-Cola booth. Each year, without a doubt, you will see the Coke booths. This is where you go during the hot day at the festival. In these booths, you will find staff and students from Everglades working hard to support our school. This is the school’s biggest fundraising event; students and staff work hard because, without it, we would not have many of our favorite activities. High school students work to raise money for their prom tickets and other school events, while our middle schoolers are working to support the school’s clubs and sports.

As every year, the school had three booths - one trailer on each side of the stage, and the last in the midst of the food court. As you walked around with your friends and family, you could stop by yourself for a cold Coke or an ice-cold water. Between the Florida heat and the warmth you’ll feel from being served by Everglades City School, you’ll definitely want an ice-cold drink.
