Elizabeth Ann Lyne passed away on August 22, 2026, at the age of 56. Liz served as a Lieutenant for 24 years with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission in the Florida Keys and performed search and rescue missions with her German Shepherd dog, Piper. She enjoyed her work and was known as the "water cop". She and her husband, Mike, moved in 2022 from Islamorada to the Everglades where Liz continued working for one-and-a-half years before retiring. She and Mike enjoyed boating and fishing together. A beautiful Celebration of Life was held for Liz on September 19 at the Rod & Gun Club, attended by many of her family and friends, including those from the Keys. Liz is remembered for her awesome stories about her FWC encounters and love of the outdoors.
